It’s Wacky Wednesday! March 25, 2020

Today is a C day so the special is art! Look at the end of my post for some art ideas.

How is everyone doing on Clever? I heard we had some login problems with Lexia Core5. Can you post and let me know who can get into Core5 and who can’t, please?

Continue today with 20 mins on MobyMax, 20 minutes on Core5. If you can’t get on Core5, please read on MyOn for 20 minutes.

Also, we are starting to look at how plants adapt so that they can live in all different types of places with different climates.

Spring has begun!

Today, your assignment is to look outside for any signs of spring. Are there any new shoots from the ground? Are there buds on trees? Do you hear different sounds – birds, squirrels, etc? What do you notice about the trees?
After you explore, come back here and tell us about it. If you’re lucky enough to have a phone, take a picture of your evidence and post the picture in the comments.

Now read about plants. Read the Introduction, Starting to Grow and Plant Parts sections of this article:

Plants

Once you’ve read it, try playing this game. A couple are very tricky!

And here is your art work:

or you can draw my new favorite salamander, Bruni!

Follow my own directions…

I enjoyed chatting with Jayanna today and she inspired me to follow the directions that I sent to all of you- Go outside and look for signs of spring! So I set off on an adventure through my yard..

‘First I checked out a large tree…

Tree during early spring

I didn’t see any leaves yet…so I got up close to look at the branches…

I saw little buds starting to form at the end of a branch! They were just starting to swell, or get bigger.

Closer to the ground, I found some new green shoots. I knew they were new because they were a brighter green than anything else. I noticed ants and spiders scurrying through the leaves.
New green sprouts

Finally, the biggest sign of spring that I saw was some daffodils. They were already about 8 inches tall and you could see their yellow flowers wrapped up tightly at the end of their stems! I’m so excited to see how long it will take for them to open…

If you logged into this blog with your name289, you can post just like I do. Tell us what you have been doing to learn, stay busy, help at home, and of course, any good books you have read! 😉 MC

Happy Terrific Tuesday! March 23, 2020

Good Morning my kiddos!

How did yesterday go? We’re you able to log onto Clever? A little bird told me Jayanna enjoyed gym today so I hope there are others that enjoyed it also!

Today is B day. On B days, we have Chinese. Here is a video about Panda Bears (B day for Bear, get it?😊) for you to watch:

And here is one about The Great Wall of China:

Next, you will logon onto Clever and go to Lexia Core 5. Work at your level for 20 minutes today. This will help me determine what lessons to make for all of you!

Now, continue working on MobyMax on the math tab. Spend 20 minutes on it today! Set a timer and it will fly by!

Last item for our B day is an article about Bioluminescent Mushrooms, or glow-in-the-dark fungus. We will be using this article for a project for this week. Today, read the article and watch attached videos.

QOTD: Using what you know about context clues in my introduction to the mushroom article, what is the definition of “bioluminescent”?
